I was so sad to hear of the death of Mississippi Slim. I've seen him so many times over the years and despaired that, as many photographs of him as I took, I never got a good one. I thought, oh, well, next year....but there won't be any more photos to take.
I loved his showmanship, his clothes - always bright and usually with mismatched shoes and mismatched socks, not to mention hair that might be any color - blue, green, orange, red, purple. He seemed to really enjoy getting out and clowning around, entertaining people, and he always had a big smile for everyone.
Here is a lousy photo of him, but probably the best one I have of him.
