How low can Tea Partiers go?

Amid reports that Tea Party protesters called John Lewis (D. Georgia, civil rights leader who was injured and nearly killed during the Selma March) Andre Carver (D. Indiana) and Emmanuel Cleaver (D. Missouri) "nigger", other despicable behavior was reported. Cleaver says someone spit on him and Barney Franks says he was called "faggot"; Representative Anthony Weiner received an anti-semitic note signed with a swastika, and a brick was thrown thru Rep. Louise Slaughter's office window.

All of that is disturbing, and I'm glad that some Republican leaders have the sense to distance themselves from this behavior, but....

What's really sticking in my craw at the moment is the chorus of Tea Partiers claiming that all of them are lying, including Rep. John Lewis, a respected, upright, and forgiving man, is lying. That's about as low as you can go - first call a man filthy names, then call him a liar for calling you out on it.
